Porter is a 3 month old pit bull puppy. I found Porter behind my house earlier this week, emaciated all scraped up and unable to walk. It took me literally an hour to get him to come up to me. And when he did, he peed himself because he was literally so scared to interact with another being. I took him immediately to Baldwin Park Animal Hospital and they took care of him and they finally called me today. Porter was found to have a birth defect in his esophagus that causes food to not be able to go down into his stomach. That is the reason why he is so emaciated, and why he is not able to tolerate any food that is given to him. Surgery is the only option if Porter is going to have any chance at living. With Porter in the animal shelter’s custody, he has 15 days to have the surgery before he is deemed terminally ill- and put to sleep. That surgery, however, costs $3,000 and Los Angeles or the Animal hospital won’t pay for the surgery. I have a little over $600 towards Porter’s funds, and I’m trying to raise more. If everyone of my followers gave $0.75 cents, I would have enough for Porter’s surgery. Please feel free to donate anything you can spare to help save Porter’s life. Please don’t let this happen to this puppy.
